Coming REAL Soon: Everything He Dreamed

Phoenix Taylor takes one look at Tony Creed and knows she's in trouble. Everything inside her screams run. If she didn't need the finishing bonus from Everything You Need, she'd listen to her gut. The company has hired her as project manager to build cabins on Palmer Island and work with Creed Construction. Tony's the general contractor and there's no way to avoid him. Just when she has a plan to move on and close the door on a very dark chapter in her life...there he is. Falling for the contractor with the wicked smile and infectious charm doesn't fit into her plan. She's not ready for that captivating emerald gaze or the trouble Tony can surely cause her heart.

Tony Creed has forced his father to draw up a contract that explicitly states this will be his very last job before going on a much needed vacation from the family business. The pressure's getting to him, and he feels himself turning into his father, a hard and heartless man. He just needs a break, period. He doesn't have the time or energy to give this simmering attraction between him and the new project manager. All he wants to do is focus on building the cabins for the next six months and be a free man. After all, he's not looking for anything, but her vivacious personality has his mind wandering back to her much more than he wants to admit.

They just have to keep things light, which is hard at first, and then just impossible when something just a little supernatural intervenes on their well-laid plans.

Dragged Out of the Archives: BECAUSE IT NEVER ENDS

Yes, I finished a book last night. I know. It's insane, I should be resting. I will, but I needed to find my hero. I'll be writing an interracial romance. A first for me. I needed to see him in my head and on paper. Mainly, I needed to know why my character would stop and look at this man. *Heck, I need to know that for every story I write.* Consider him for more than a passiing glance. And you know have her ovaries sit up and pay attention.

I think I did good. What do you think of Brice Creed?

Cover Pretties: Everything He Dreamed

Have sent off Tony's story for its first round of beatings. Right now I've got nothing better to do with my time than to stare off into space while thinking up the next story.

That's all right. I usually make covers in times like these. Made this one a few weeks back...

Hmm. Tony. Can't wait. Can't wait to release this book.

But first...

A special Christmas story. Unfortunately, it'll only be available at Amazon.

There's one more cover, but I'll wait to show ya. I know. I'm cruel. (said in a Stewie accent.)

Release Frenzy And A New Book

I'm about to propel myself into another release frenzy. Down With Cupid is slated to come out in a few days. Along with the bundled versions of all of my Down With Cupid Shorts. I'll be rocking in a corner in no time, sipping on cognac.

But right now, right this second (or after I finish writing this post) I'll be heading back to a story I've been wanting to write for ages. One reason or another, it's been put on the back burner. What story you ask?

Tony's story i.e. Everything He Dreamed.

Me = Hog heaven.

So, I'm adding to the story board I've got on Pinterest.

I repeat: Me = hog heaven.

Behind The Story: Everything You Need

This story sticks out when you line up my books and see what they're about. All of them, except this one, are pure contemporary romances. There's absolutely no sense of an otherworldly element.

Why did this one become an oddball?

Freak accident is why.

This book was supposed to be part of a novella with another author. That fell through. I was writing humorous women's fiction at the time that had a very strong magic realism element. I was more than sure this was the direction my writing would go. I was once again leaving behind contemporary romance. (I hadn't learn yet this is what I come back to.) I didn't see any problem adding in a disgruntled angel named Angie. (We did talk about how I'm original, right?)

So, I wrote this book and then spent three years trying to make it into something it would never be. For one, I tried to make Brice less stubborn and willful and...less like Brice. I tried to figure out how to cut out the magical element, because I wrote pure contemps. Hazel, well, I always thought nothing was wrong with her except for her love of Brice who was opinionated, passionate...well Brice. Before I decided to self-publish I was intent on opening the document where this story had grown dust and took up room on my harddrive and deleting it. I was going to wipe this story out of existence.

Two things stopped me. I had already edited the book. Like sent it off and had someone take a pound of flesh out of this book, do their best to fix my wayward sentences and so on and so forth. I had sat down and fixed all the things she told me to fix. I'd done all that. The second reason was everyone who had no thought to what this book was supposed to be liked it. They liked Hazel. They even liked Brice because he was the kind of insufferable but loveable hero. They absolutely could not wait for Tony's story.

With that in mind I decided to let the book speak for itself. It's one of my bestsellers. Who knew? (Ok. Everyone but me.)

In the end, even though I was dead wrong, I get to write Tony's story. He's a charmer. I love to write charmers. I do. I absolutely do. So, I'm calling this a win. (Here's a link to Tony's storyboard.) (You can check out my books tab to find out more about Everything You Need.)
